Cool.
How about a description of the facilities? Yardage? Can anyone join or do you need a sponser? Where is it located? Contact information? Price of membership? Private, semi-private, or public range? Rifle, handgun, shotgun friendly? Range officers? Targets?
Details man, details! I'm interested in finding a nice facility...hopefully 200-plus yards.
BTW, aren't they CMP affiliated?

He was pretty busy.

Nice to meet you GNX and BBURN.  I though we were just going to look at the place or I would have brought some of my toys.  hollar

Sorry guys, I'm late to the party as usual!  GNX and Gladman, I really enjoyed meeting you both and it's always good to hear the "supersonic crack" of hot lead flying down range!  The range officer said for you to call him to set up the safety training to get signed up.  Sounds like Gladman has already done that.  Give him a shout GNX, if you haven't already.  We missed redlocki for the range trip.  Hope everything is okay red and my offer to show you the range still stands.  Let me know what time works for you.

Okay, splitbolt...........here are your answers.

The range has a dozen covered benches for all weather shooting.  There are PVC sleeves in the ground at various ranges from 15 thru 200 yards including all the popular ranges like 25, 50, 75, 100, 200 and probably others I haven't used.  You build your own wooden target frame that stands up in the ground sleeves (2x2 lumber or similar).  Anyone can join you just need to be an NRA member.  It is located in NE Rogers in the general vicinity of the Rogers Municipal Airport.  Price of membership is $36 per year if your dues are paid on time.  There is also a $25 range fee per year, but it is waived as long as you participate in either selling tickets for the annual raffle, or in the range workday on one Saturday morning each year.  It is a private range for club members only.  There is also a family membership option for a few more bones if your spouse or children are into our hobby/sport.  It's setup for rifles and handguns, but you are allowed to "pattern" your shotgun downrange.  No skeet or shooting up in the air for any reason.  The gate lock combination is only given to members.  There are two storage buildings onsite that unlock with the same combination.  Members can keep their target frames inside so it is not necessary to transport the target frame to the range each time.  The club meets once a month either at the Rogers Public Library in cold weather, or at the range in warmer months.  It is not necessary to attend unless you want to be actively involved in decisions, planning events, being an officer, etc.  Your are free to shoot on your own anytime during daylight hours.  The range officer is normally not present unless he is feeling his own urge to "bust some caps" as they say!  Thanks for reminding me, yes, we are now affiliated with the CMP!

I don't feel right about posting names and personal contact info for the club officers on here so if anyone needs that info, please email me separately and I'll be happy to assist.  After you get in touch with the range officer, he meets you for a short safety orientation meeting at the range.  Then you pay your dues to get the range combination and you're basically on your own after that.  As long as members stay responsible and we have no accidents, the range will continue to be a "self serve" arrangement.

How's that for details.  Did I miss anything?

BBURN did point out a small pistol range that the PD uses but correct me if I'm wrong, it's off limits to the club.

I'm sorry gladman...I forgot your handle.  Please forgive me.

I can't wait until we are all members there and can schedule an AR15.com range day!

See ya'll soon!

That's ok GNX.  It's still new to me too.  LOL.

I'm used to my other ID on different gun fourms, but I couldn't use it here cause it was taken.

Redloki, You overslept?  Shame on you.  he
It would be great if we could join and have a get together.

GNX is correct............the Rogers PD has a small range 1/4 mile south of the club range that is off limits to us.  Our club range is actually leased from the City of Rogers so if the PD snipers need our range for distance shooting, they have priority and club members have to vacate.  I've honestly never heard of that happening though.

Hope to see you guys out there soon!

What no friendly Competitions?    When the officer gets some time and can meet up with me, I'll be there.
