DAMNNNN!.....87?

Thats got to me nice.  I have one, but I also have about 15 more years of college loans to pay for.  So I am limited for the mean time.

I do hope to get a AR SBR'd lower this year so I can mount a 11.5 in upper.

I will probably go through trent to do it, but he seems to take so damn long to get the paper work complete!

I would like to get a nice Ruger AAC 556 (You got to remember these from the A-TEAM, they seemed to fire 5000 rds when they were in a gun fight but never killed anyone) machine gun, there about halve the price of a nice m16 or m4 but can still have fun and decent quality.

From what I hear, he's pretty good. I've got a corp, so I don't have to mess with it.

Pardon my ignorance, but what do you mean by "I have a corp"?

He's got a company set up just so he can buy class 3 stuff without the Cheif leo signing.  Actually cowboy, trent was telling me the new JPD chief won't sign for anyone.  But that's been a few months.

Well, the new chief is "supposed" to be a signer.

The sherrif IS though if all else fails.

And yes, I do have a corporation just for Class 3 stuff. Skips the LEO signature, prints, photo and cuts my transfer time down to 4-6 weeks. (4 when i started and 6 here lately)

Yep, McCann will sign anything you put in front of him

What about NLR? I am thinking of a SBR or a suppressed .22. Also, who is here that does Class III transfers besides Don's?

With me living inside the city limits, does the CLEO have to sign or can I use either the Sherrif?  I guess I could bug Trent with these questions.
1/19/2006 5:58:39 PM EDT
[#11]
You can use either to sign off. You just can't use somone with zero jurisdiction over you (ie, sherrif in another county, chief in a different city)

Thanks for the info.  I am leaning real hard toward a can or SBR (or both).

what about the Pulaski County Sheriff?  he a signer?

Don't shop at dons!

The new gunshop across from Jason's Deli in Little Rock is a Class III !

Yes but you will need to call and make an appointment with someone whose name I will IM you.

Be polite, courteous, bring cash for a $20-25 local background check, call ahead for an appointment, don't be transferring things from Don's, and DON'T DON'T DON'T walk in there and bitch about the process and how everything should be free of regulation etc.

Word on the street is they almost stopped signing a few years ago beccause they had so many problem customers from Don's Weaponry (in NLR) bitching.

Yep, that is why I asked. I won't even go in that place.

what's with Don's?

i've never done business with them before, nor have i heard anything about em (positive or negative) so i'm just wondering about that situation

Don's employee's are your "gun store dick headed snob peons" personified

I just don't like the way they talk to customers.

Also, $50 for a transfer - need I say more.

I called arond today and what is the going price for a Class III transfer? The new gunshop quoted me $100. Sounds a little high to me. Looks like I am going to pay over $300 before even paying for the supressor.

Trent's charges 50, including doing all the paper work. Well worth it. Now, the place charging 100?? little much

Yes, I thought that was a little high. $50 would seem a little better. I am currently looking into John Norell. He has a Ruger MKII that looks sweet.  Has anyone delt with him?

look up Tschiemer on here. He works for Norrell on the side and can probibly get ya going in the right direction.

Never dealt with him or his products, but Norrel is supposed to be good people. One of the better can makers around.

Guys, John Norrell and Robert are top notch.  That said John charges $100 for transfers, I pay it because John is up front and very consistant, plus checking his shop is worth the admission price (I drive 3 hrs. when other dealers are closer).  I've used Scott Bell once too, and no problems there either.  Robert T. the fellow that helps John out, is a great guy too, and can handle all your moly-resin refinishing needs.

Trent told me $100  once when I asked?  Maybe you as good customer are getting a special deal?

Nevertheless every other place I've talked to charges $100.

ETA: I use John Norrell but he is really busy these days.  Super guy.

I haven't been to John Norrell's in a while.

He has two M16s I am starting the deal on.

Where is John Norells place ?  I have been looking for a new c-III dealer, I haven't owned a c-III weapon in a few years,  but was thinking about a new one,   I also won't deal with Don's by the way,  man what a rip off place that is...   after Mid south went out I delt with Aregos once or twice and had good service...

I do want to point out that John's shop is in a nice residential neighborhood and he doesn't like lots of traffic coming and going.
