Is anyone planning on hitting the gun show in Lincoln on Jan 25 or 26? For those who don't know, it's at the State Fair Park in the Ag building. Admission is $3.00. Any other shows coming up that anyone is aware of? |

At this time South Sioux City no longer has gun shows. The local promotor here who did the show lost his insurance. The Fremont show will be comming up the 3rd weekend in Feb. That will be the good show. Never made enough Lincoln shows to know which ones are good which ones are bad. Grand Island Fonner park show not what it used to be. I still go cause I meet friends from North Platte half way there. Hastings is putting on a good show twice a year now at the fair grounds. |

If I am not mistaken, this show coming up in Lincoln is the black powder show. Basically, half the tables sell cowboy shooting related stuff, the rest of the tables sell regular stuff that you would see at any other gun show. Naturally, the cowboy side of the show feels like your walking through a really crappy souvnier shop somewhere in the west. I usually just avoid that side of the building. There should be another show coming up in April here in Lincoln that will be out at the county fairgrounds (or whatever they call it) over by 84th & Havelock. That one will be a real gunshow, but if it is like any other, will still not be very interesting. Still need some ammo distributors to show up at shows, unfortunately, most people will not buy ammo in bulk in this area, don't know why though. It seems the only really good shows are down in KC. Both the military shows and regular shows usually have some decent deals, especially on ammo. |
| Yea I moved here 7 yrs ago and at that time I bought my guns on form 4. Not a dealer. That set me living search not in Iowa, so that left NE and SD. Not knowing the specifics of living on Indian Reservation land that limited my choices of direction form Sioux City, well I found some places I really liked but then the wallet came into play. Finally decided on South Sioux City, to do over again knowing what I know now I probably would have moved on the South Dakota side. As a NFA dealer there are plenty on eastern side of NE now on the SD side they are few and far between. |
