The Legislative session for 2016 has begun. Check out the NFOA Members Only forums for all the carry over and new bills. NFOA link
So far the NFOA is really pushing LB289 introduced by Senator Ebke. LB289 is the state preemption bill, forcing cities to obey what the state law is, especially gun laws. #OneStateOneStandard. Senator Schnoor is making it his priority bill, so it will hit the floor for debate, but Senator Chambers has said he will filibuster it. Hopefully you will contact your state Senator and tell them to support LB289 and report back to the NFOA forums or Facebook page. Also, Senator Chambers has introduced LB839, which will require background checks for individuals looking to purchase night vision, ballistic helmets, body armor and large capacity ammunition "clips." Of course, demand your Senator to reject this bill. |

Huh, it wasn't showing actual email addresses last night. They looked like this: Email and you clicked it and the link took me to some generic [email protected] email information page. Anyway it seems to be working now. |

LB289 is on the agenda for late Tuesday. It's in line after 4 other bills, 3 of which Ernie will likely filibuster for the full time allowed, so it may actually come up for debate by late Wednesday or Thursday.
Please take the time in the next few days to not only send an email, but then starting Tuesday call your Senator to ask for their support of this bill. |
