Update. Our IT dept told me that we may have Verizon for our company as soon as June 30. We are predominately Verizon in the lower 48 at all of our locations, and they informed corporate that we could port our numbers to Verizon in June. Hope that helps. Awesome! I have a Verizon Mifi Box, and GCI tower I am going through is throttling the throughput. Up on the slope I get 2.5 mbps, here I get .4 Aviator |

I was working with an AT&T (Alascom) tech recently. The contract he was fulfilling was under Verizon. We had to work from 4am to 9am because that's when Verizon works on the East coast. (Pricks. I am not a morning person) I didn't ask but AT&T working for Verizon? Did someone buy someone out again?

Somebody just recently had the makings of a fiber line run from at least Old Murphy Dome Rd on the Elliot Hwy to past mile 16...
They had a contractor (Alaska Land Clearing, IIRC) clear the right of way from Haystack north, then another contractor, City Electric, came in and trenched two 1.25" HDPE tubes down the right of way. They are still empty, but I can only imagine that they are for fibers... They just finished that a week or two ago. Any insight? |

City (read: Shitty) Electric is running the fiber optic. Supposed to go to al least ColdFoot I hear. |
