7.62 precision does cerakote I believe
There is also a place in NP (illusive arms?) that does it

Tri Jet in the valley did a great job on matching a 551-A1 finish.  They are a factory certified applicator and were very helpful.

Might also want to check with AK Custom Firearms on Old Seward by Dimond to see what they have.

Does Tri-Jet have an FFL?  I'd like to get some Cerakote done on an NFA gun and I think refinishing now technically requires an FFL?

Thanks.

Not sure about cerakote, but I sent my 35 whelen in to arctic gunworks out of Fairbanks for arctic kote and it has been great.  I don't worry about it one bit while out on the water or in the bush.

I have a Sako that is Arctic coated and its very nice. I got it in a trade coated as it is so I do not know the cost. Im glad it came coated because I dislike walking into that cabin.

Any reviews of Illusive arms work?

Steve does do some gunkote but I've only seen him do it on some parts he is working his gunsmithing magic on.  I don't know if he takes projects for just the coating.  It is definately possible.

I do know that he prefers a particular Nitride bath.  He says it's bombproof especially over spray on bake on coatings.

BTW, I do my own coatings in my garage.  Done both gunkote and cerakote.  If you have a few things it's not at all difficult to do yourself.  Aluminum Oxide 120 grit in a blasting cabinet, acetone bath x 2, airbrush or HVLP spray gun, oven, time.

If you are coating something that is already a good phosphate/parkerized coating I prefer to just skip the abrasive blasting.  Just cook all the oils out and it will take a spray on coating like crazy.

I have a good time with it.
