| I think I have decided to try it out this year. I'll probably have a small line out this year. |
| I trap some seasons then others I don't, just depends on how much spare time I have. Usually cats coyotes and fox. I run my buddies martin line with him but they just don't yank my chain like a real preditor. I used to catch quite a few bob cats in montana but havn't had much luck on the lynx up here. Coyotes are my favs cause they are so smart and will make you feel rewarded when you start catching them. And fox they are just suicidal! |

Working by foot or snowmachine? I've been wanting to get into it and plan to when I can move out of Los Anchorage. a little of both I have 36 acres and then the surrounding land is state. I have to actually get out and look to see what it all looks like. Primarily snowmachine to the cabin and then probably snowshoe from there. |

I'd do it if I can eat what I catch, never been into just killing for pelts. Although if there is $$ to be made.... Last time i knew the price on wolf pelts were looking at $400 and above. Bundle of squirrels is over $1000 and i forget how many are in it. |

There are a few people on Alaska's list selling pelts. Way more expensive then i would have thought. I was over a buddys house the other night and he had some that he trapped back in the day and they were really nice and REALLY soft. Could be fun to try it. |

Ground squirrels and it takes a shit load to make a parka. Not many trap beavers anymore around since the price really dropped out. |

So pardon my ignorance, but when you trap them how do you end up killing them? Shoot em?? We go a shit ton of gray squirrels back in NJ and their really easy to get into cages. It's in town so you couldn't shoot them but a garbege can full of water has been know to work just as well How much can ya get for chipmunks? ![]() |

But when it doesn't you grab the head then feel around under their ribs and pop the heart. Or you stretch the neck. A fancy parka can go for thousands. Always wanted some for the wife and girls. |
