Just thought I'd let you guy's know that Bill Walker is going to be talking to the Alaska Machine Gun Association this Wednesday, 7/28/10, in Eagle River, after their meeting. AMGA's meeting will be at Pizza Man at 16433 Artillery Rd. from 7pm till 8pm. Bill will speak to some people after the AMGA social gathering sometime after 8pm. Thanks Matt. Stop by if you have some questions for him. |

I thought Joe Miller was supposed to come talk. I didn't see anything listed on Joe's web site. http://www.joemiller.us/ Did you hear some rumors, or did you see it listed? It would be nice to him there. I don't think Joe's going to be able to beat Lisa this time around though. In my opinion, that sucks. SIX MORE YEARS OF ANOTHER RINO, LISA! |

It was in one of the AMGA e-mails and monthly e-mail that he wanted to come talk but wasn't scheduled yet. I thought they were still looking for a place to hold it. Didn't see that. I know that Joe needs all the help he can get right now though. The primary is where it's at folks. Less than a month to go. The election is 8/24/10. |

Interesting. I hadn't heard this but look forward to meeting Walker. Also on tonight's agenda will be a recap of the meeting between the AMGA and the city to redefine the CLEO signature process. From my understanding of it (damn I wish I hadn't been on the slope and missed the city meeting), the form will be shortened due to the mayor asking the chief to simplify and streamline. From my secondhand knowledge it sounds like the city still doesn't quite 'get it' that they HAVE to sign if the person meets the minimum qualifications outlined in the state law but is getting closer. Time will tell when we see the new signature request form.
Come tonight to hear the full recap from Dave. Matt |

I just got the confirmation from Dave that Walker will be appearing after the meeting around 8pm. I look forward to it!
Edited to specify that he'll be appearing AFTER the AMGA meeting. We're just a social/dinner club according to the IRS and formally stay out of the political realm. Matt |

Anyone know if either Miller or Walker are against the parental notification initiative ballot measure? Someone said today that one was...which seems interesting; not sure I believe that. Bill Walker recently hosted a Yes on 2 event at his house. Joe Miller was listed as a co-host. Standing up for Alaska’s families Although Bill and his opponents are engaged in a spirited Republican primary, there remain those issues that unite us; which supersede those that divide us. A prominent issue at this time, is the Parental Notification Initiative -Ballot Measure 2. What a message it would send to Alaskan voters to see Republican candidates come together, putting individual campaign fundraising efforts aside for one evening, and standing united to raise critical funds to help assure passage of the initiative on August 24th. For this reason, Bill and his wife Donna are hosting a fundraiser at their home in Anchorage to raise money in support of the Alaska Family Council’s Parental Rights Initiative. In an effort to unite Alaska’s Republican Party the following candidates have agreed to co-host this event: •Don Young •Sheldon Fisher •Joe Miller •Ralph Samuels •Sean Parnell •Mead Treadwell •Jay Ramras •Eddie Burke http://www.billwalkerforgovernor.com/newsevents/ About 1/3rd of the way down... |
