A guy that I work with (in a job helping others) had his house out in point Mckenzie broken into a few days ago.  Neighbor said he saw a white guy in a blue pickup.  That's all we got.  Cops didn't do much.  Any information out there would be appreciated.  Stole electronics, a 12 ga, tools, etc etc.

Too bad he wasn't home so he could show him/them how a 12 ga should be used.

Did neighbors call the police when they saw a strange vehicle?  Did they get a license plate?

If not what would you expect them to do?  Seriously, a white guy in a blue truck.  You probably described 5,000+ people in Anchorage alone.

To clarify

I hate thieves as well, there is no place for them
I am sorry your buddy lost his stuff.
It is a bad situatiuon

Just dont see how the police are at fault for not getting it done when there really is nothing to go on

The one neighbor who saw the white guy in a blue truck was very old and was unable to provide any usable information.  Less than trying to find him with that description, I was more just taking a shot in the dark to see if anyone out that way happened to see anything suspicious recently.   Didn't expect much, but figured I would give it a shot.

It seems odd that your friend would have his house broken into.  I mean especially in a more remote location, during the day.  I would imagine that it was committed by someone in the neighborhood or an aquaintance of the person that got robbed.  Have your friend take a moment to see who knew about any "stuff" he had at home.  Also have him check the local pawn shops to see if any of his stuff shows up.  Also, have him check the local quickie mart to see if they recognize a blue pickup in the area.  Point McKenzie is a dead end location, so the guy was in the area for a reason.  Check and see if anyone else in the area has been robbed.  Criminals hunt in the area they know, it helps them keep from getting caught.

Good luck....
