Thinking about another NFA item and I live in the City of Wasilla.  Can I still go to the troopers for the signoff or do I have to go to Wasilla PD?

I believe the trooper policy is that if you are served by a local PD you have to go to them for sign-off.

So what's the new toy?

Yeah it is local PD.  Last I knew the CoP was a cool pro 2A guy.

I heard wasilla does not sign them so I will check but it looks like the trust route for me.  Looking at a Gemtech HRT

Try calling Keith Stegall.  He's a dealer near Wasilla and should know more....

Do you mean the HVT?
If so, puhlease bring it next time we meet.  I would like to hear one snapped onto my 5.56 bilocks.  I am thinking about an HVT cause I can use it on both my 5.56 and 308's with the same mounts.

I think I'm going the Trust route also. I used Quicken Will Maker, Just not sure on a couple things. Should I have a lawyer look it over? Do I need to go down to the court house and register the Trust? Did AK Tactical give you any insight into doing a Trust?

Thanks, Tom

New info from Keith Stegall.  He spoke with Wasilla PD.  They will sign on a case by case basis.  It sounds like they're somewhere in-between the troopers (no hassle sign-off) and Anchorage (easy sign-offs but a hassle).

If anyone goes through the process with Wasilla PD please let us know how it goes.

I didn't feel like going through all the shit. Downloaded Willmaker, printed it, had it notarized, and sent it all out this morning. All for $1.49 (gas not included)

Now i sit back and wait for an error to come back

APD is still a piece of cake.  Just not as easy as the troopers due to the APD interview.  I should have further defined 'hassle'.....

With some extreme anti gun people in charge of every branch at this point, I think it is worth having documents reviewed by a qualified attorney to ensure all of the "i" are dotted and "t" crossed

Call me concerend, but I have seen ATF fuck people over in the past who have done nothing wrong (Atkins Accelarator comes to mind)
