| Well, I received the form 4 from my class 3 today. There is a lonely SRT hurricane can in Anchorage in my name on it. I will impatiently be waiting starting tomorrow after I ship of the form 4 to the .gov's. I am going the trust route, so I won't have to take the time with the APD. I am SO looking forward to about this time next month. I think it will complement my SBR nicely. |
Email sent The person I used was only able to get the min depth penetration with the laser, so although it is up to snuff as per regs, I am hesitant to refinish or paint it because there isnt really any fudge factor. When I do my next one it will most likely go to Orion Arms for engraving. He does very good work and I have only heard good things about him. |
absolutely, 100%, TRUE. You don't have to pay for the CCW permit but you have to show proof that you took the class. Call Steve at Alaska Tactical. ~Dg84 |
Not really true They cash the check and then forward the paperwork on to the BATFE examiners. My guess is if you called it wouldnt even show up in the system yet. You shold know where you stand in 6-8 weeks. All cashing the check means is that a mail room employee has recieved your forms |

I agree, they cashed my check, then several weeks later told me I was missing paperwork....which I had sent them. Probably got lost on someone's desk. No one wants you to get your can more than I do....I am tired of your loud gun. You're cramping my style Greybear!! See ya on Thursday! Danomite! |
Absolutly! If you're an EPM we're going to arrive around 5ish and shoot for a few hours. I think the range closes around 6pm for normal folks & then we will stick around as the place clears out and do some fun stuff |
IMHO a suppressed 223 was a major let down. I was already to drop the money on one and then I actually heard one. MP5SD on the other hand |
|
I too have an SRT can for my M4; it's quiet but you need to roll your own if you want top notch performance. My MP5SD and MP5 w/AWC suppressor were almost the same decible and I couldn't stand shooting the SD because of all the powder blowback |
|
Just shot my first suppressor up at my cabin today... I now believe that EVERY weapon should be suppressed. I picked up my YHM Phantom SS from Steve on Thursday and had to run up to Petersville today so I took it along. I don't understand why a lot of people say don't make a 5.56 can your first can. I did my first 3 shots unsuppressed with muffs on as a reference... then shot 3 suppressed shot with muffs on... After that, the only time I put my muffs back on was to shoot my .22lr Kimber with high velocity winchesters. My Kimber and my buddy's 22/45 were much louder then my suppressed Bushmaster. I'm hooked! ~Dg84 Oh, and I now see why a SBR is the next natural progression after getting a can.

Yeah the SBR makes the suppressed rifle as a whole more manageable for length. That extra pound at the end of the barrel can add up after long shooting periods. I for one have liked the suppressed Ar's. I have only shot a Halo so far. The largest thing i have noticed is the buffer spring noise in cheaper buffer tubes, such as the tube I have |
