Who knows about this area? Is it flat, hilly, tundra etc.? Are there a lot of bears in the area? I will be hunting caribou somewhere around there. How about fishing? What are some good lures for up there?
Thanks

Fishing up hear we use bait not lures.  Fishing should most of the time be great.  Small river just a couple of miles north of Homer here is good for Dollys and Steel Head.  Cold Bay is out on the Chain

So expect rain and wind rolling hills and cliffs.  If you see a tree let me know there are not many in that part of the state.

There is some WW2 history there but not many people.  Stay warm and be safe

I am not sure what kind of fishing there is there, but most pack a flyrod and flies to save on weight and space.  Most species of fish can be caught on fly gear, even some bottom fish.

IF you are going to a place in Alaska called "Cold Bay" you'd best prepare for something miserable.  Beautifully miserable, but miserable none the less.

Most places have colorful names that do not hint towards what the climate is, or native names...but I think the native names translate into stuff like "Freeze your balls off" and "Witch's Tit".

TX:
Cold Bay is located in the tropics about 200+ miles down the chain from me. Its not really that cold but will depend on what you are used to. There are some world class caribou out there but like a lot of Alaska they are hard to get to. It is tundra rolling hills with some cliffs on waters edge. Depending on when you go there may be only bottom fish available. The silver run is winding down now. Take about 20lbs of pixies.
