I think it's kosher, but I thought i'd ask.

I have a good friend that's a convicted felon.
Can he get in any trouble if he's in the car with me while i'm carrying a pisol that is in my posession at all times?

No.

Not all  'felons' are actually dangerous. And that is completely aside from the civil-rights issue of claiming that one can permanently lose inalienable human rights after a judicial sentence has been completed.
"There's no way to rule innocent men. ... When there aren't enough criminals one makes them. One declares so many things to be a crime that it becomes impossible for men to live without breaking laws. "

So long as your friend does not have ready access to the firearm, it should not be a problem.

When my brother was up here at Christmas, I carried around him the whole time. In the car, at church, at my dad's house. He didn't have easy access to it, so I never even thought twice about it.
