From the IFC:
"Don’t forget, February 23rd is our Second Amendment Day in the Iowa legislature. The day begins at 8AM. The House of Representatives gavels in at 8:30AM and the Senate begins their day at 9:00AM. There’s a chance we could see votes on the pro-gun bills in House as early as 10AM. The Iowa Firearms Coalition will be providing t-shirts, talking points, and valuable information to those who join us. We’ll also be joined by the National Rifle Association and the American Suppressor Association." I took the day off and plan to attend to help support pro-gun legislation in Iowa. I'm willing to pickup a few folks in the metro area if people need a ride or would like to go together. Just let me know. |
Awesome! I'll be there. Hopefully you get some takers. A huge showing would go a long way. I'll probably be running around a lot through out the day, but I hope we can find some time to chat. I really enjoy meeting you guys face to face. Well, most of you .
Who else is planning on being there next week? |

I know the house is usually more supportive, but I wrote another personal e-mail to my rep. She has voted against us every time. I pointed out her voting history of supporting health issues and thanked her for continuing to protect my health by supporting the hearing protection act.
I then politely pointed out her record of defending the rights of her constituency's privacy, including those with criminal records, and asked why I as a CCW holder should have less rights to privacy than a convicted felon and to please support the Privacy Act. I likely won't hear anything back again, despite the fact that we live about a few miles apart. If I do, I'll be sure to share. |
