Just wanted to introduce myself.  I'm on several other hunting/shooting boards with the same name so a few may recognize me.

I just started working on my first AR build and have found this place a good source of info so figured I would join.  I'm currently in vet school at ISU so this build has been pretty incremental and budget minded.  I've been watching for sales and shipping deals and just picking up parts slowly.  My goal is to be all said and done with a decent entry rifle under $650.  I thought about just buying a DPMS rifle but I'm pretty mechanically inclined and like the idea of building my own.

Anyway - just thought I would say hello and get rid of that goose egg next to my name.

Welcome, most people new to ARs wind up buying a complete upper and building the lower themselves.  A lower can be built in your living room with nothing more than a hammer, a punch, and a broken pair of pliers... ask me how I know

Welcome, and if you're willing to wait for your order to come in(some companies are EXTREMELY behind) you can build exactly what you want for not much more than a basic Walmart DPMS Sportical. Stay away from Blackthorne.

Oh yeah, we need to know what you think of bicycles on the road and whether or not there should be beans in chili.
