Hopefully this is the proper forum for this. I've called, as far as I know, every "gunsmith" and machine shop around with no luck... Is there anyone in the Cedar Rapids, IA area that knows someone who can pin and weld a barrel device?

CCA is doing one for me now. They're a short drive over to Baxter, but not sure what their turnaround time is.

Talk to Septic.

You're still interested after seeing their website?

I've been a customer for a couple years now, but I still second guess them each time I see that site... It's like a late 90's Geocities page

Lol... If they do good work on rifles then their website could look like cave drawings as far as I'm concerned. Have you had them do any work on your rifles/ handguns?

Yes and yes.

They do a pretty good job, Prices seem reasonable and even with all of Spetics flaws (to many to count) he's a good guy to sit around and bullshit with.

Probably the best part of the CCA experience.  It's a good thing he doesn't usually charge by the hour.

Customer?
More like a little kid always underfoot and asking questions and whining.*

Late 90's geocities site?
Were you even alive in the late 90's?

And to the OP, yes, CCA is good people that do good work.
Except for maybe StrongArm... He does good work if he gets enough doughnuts.
But not too many, than he sleeps.
Oh, and they're all easy on the eyes, if you're into grumpy, scruffy looking men.
Which I am NOT.

CCA has fixed an Anschutz trigger for me, skim bedded 2 rifles, Cerakoted an FN PBR in a MCM A3 stock for me, and they have 2 of my pistols and are cerakoting a complete rifle for me whilst building the upper.

Dave helped me (aka did everything while I watched) build my first upper

and I've trained under Rick and Romp.

Yeah, they're good people.

Yep.  CCA is the way to go.

Plus, they are very, very active in supporting gun rights in Iowa.

Thanks for all the feedback. I'm relatively new to Iowa and still feeling my way around. As I wrote before I emailed them and they promptly replied. Thanks again...
