Any hockey fans here?  I thinking of checking out some games this season.  Should be fun.  Fridays are $2 beer night.

Yes Sir,

I was at the game last night. Couldn't make the game on sat.
sure was a close game until the last period.

The wife unit and I met up with friends, all of us are new to hockey, but we want to make a regular thing out of it.

Section 225 on Saturday night with my wife and daughter...my mom and dad were in 224 right across the aisle.  We all had a great time but I don't know how many games we'll make it to during the season as our daughter and I have season tickets to the Des Moines Buccaneers, we might check into the Wild's 10 game package and work around the Bucs schedule if the money is there.

I was there Sat. nite as well....working though.  Crowd was very well behaved for

as many as were there.

You could get me to work there for free (almost)

as long as I could watch hockey!

Looks like someone needs to step up and set a IAHTF Hockey night.  Twin Peaks and Hockey sound awesome.

RLarge hasn't called for a movie night in a long while.

My brother and his Future wife went Saturday. They said they had a fun time.

Until Beer prices at these Sport Events get under control, you won't see me at one

Iowa Wild Friday night games are $2/beers which for a sporting event like the Wild and an event center like Wells Fargo...$2/beer is very reasonable I feel!

I don't drink at sporting events like sprint car races, Iowa Speedway, Barnstormers, Buccaneers or the Wild as my daughter and I always go together and I yell enough at these events without any liquid encouragement to change the "verbage" of what I'm yelling.

$2 beers? You now have my attention

The next Friday home game is November 1st. I probably shouldn't be hung over for the Long Range shoot...

Yes they were.
The kids (I'd say 7-10 years old) in front of us kept banging on the glass when one of the baron's players was near by and they would shout "Number 24 Sucks!"
Then the player would hit the glass with his stick and scare them, but they kept at it. Those seat were kind of pricey, $60 for my wife and I, but worth it at least once.

I remember reading something in a Houston paper that said rink side seats for the Houston Aeros (where Iowa Wild team came from) was $90/seat but in Des Moines there $42/seat. Our seats were $9/seat and we were perfectly happy...I actually prefer sitting up high on the attack end of the ice as I can see the plays develop right in front of us and we're not constantly turning our head from left to right all night long. You can tell that it's a new hockey facility as the plexiglass is very clear and not all scuffed up yet.

I agree, it can be a bit like sitting in the front row at the movie theater.

I made it out to their scrimmage they had before the season started. One of my coworkers is a rabid hockey fan, she's got season tickets, so I know I've got to make it to a few games.

I'm down for an IAHTF hockey night. Just let me know which game.
