Is there a lot of difference between large rifle and large rifle magnum  primers?  I can still get the large rifle magnum primers ( Tula ) and was considering using them and dropping my powder charge a half a grain.  I load my own 7.62 x 54R using Lapua brass.  I'm not really happy about using Tula primers, but they were all I could find and the price wasn't too bad at $25/1000.  Thanks for your input.

there isnt a huge difference between them. If your loads are conservative, you should be able to back it off a few grains and work up.

I had to do the same thing with small pistol primers. I took 3 grains off and loaded up for the summer, no 9mm pistol in the house yet, so I hope they are good.

I use   to use LRM primers when shooting BPCR in .45/70 for better ignition with black powder, but have not used them with smokeless.  Thanks for the holler back.

depends on the powder...  if you're in extremely cold climates and use medium slow burning powders in small charge quantities, you'll be fine.  if you're in hot climates, have ammo laying out in the sun, load up a batch, and push a heavy projo with slow powder, you'll have a mess or worse...
