So I was working for ISU's IT department making 8.50 an hour for 'baby sitting' 8 other students and personally dealing with every new computer that was purchased and 80% of the computers that come back to us with a problem. Over the summer, I unpacked, re-imaged, and setup 314 new computers and fixed about 90 trouble calls. During this time my boss was gone for 2 months, and just a few days after he gets back he becomes angered because he didn't know everything we were doing before we did it (this guy knows nothing about computers and is there about 40% of the time). Needless to say, I liked what I did but I could not deal with my boss or the pay. So I now work for CyRide and am going to be a bus driver starting at 12.67$ and hour once I finish training! |

Quoted: And I thought I was the only one with boss issues. Its really best if they dont show up and just let us get the work done. Sometimes the shit just aint worth it. We got 20x more work done, with better customer satisfaction, and less issues when he was not there. And thanks everyone, If you come ride my bus I promise I wont slam on the brakes! |

Cyride is great. Had a couple of buddies who worked for them while I was in school. They all loved it. The night busses can get pretty interesting too.
Also, the private rides are better if you know someone who works as a student officer or CSO for the ISU PD. It's called a 'safety escort' and people abused the shit out of it. |
