After a long, cold winter layoff we are ready to get back at it. All courses start at 8 a.m. at Big Springs Range in Searsboro, IA. Please make sure you read the course description on our website and have all required material. If last year was any indication these courses will fill up extremely fast, so sign up soon to guarantee your spot. We will be offering the following courses:
Basic Handgun Operation A course description is available here. We are offering two dates for this class, so please specify April 23 or May 1 when registering. Basic Rifle Operation A course description is available here. This class will be held on April 24. Women Only Basic Handgun Operation After a huge demand for teaching a women only course we will be offering our Basic Handgun Operation with registration restricted to women only. This course will be held on April 30. Don't hesitate to contact me with questions regarding training [email protected] To arrange payment please contact Michael at [email protected] Remember guys, these courses satisfy the training prerequisite for our 2nd and 3rd level courses which will be offered starting in June or July. Our Basic Hangun Operation course also fills the training requirement for your IA and FL weapon permits. Thanks again for your continued support of CCA training and we look forward to providing you with the best training available in the Midwest. |

I am going to be signing up for both. Try to do the April 23-24 and get them both in a weekend. Just looked it up and this is Easter weekend. Family will getting together so it does not work for me. I will look at the next class for Handgun and sign up for Rifle on the other date. |

Any type of discount for taking both classes that weekend??? Sure would be nice Seeing as how the basic handgun class meets requirements for the new carry law is there going to be a fair amount of legal information covered??? Now im sure you like to keep to schedule, but let's say everyone in the class already has permits and a pretty solid understanding of the material, would we be able to skip that section of the class for more range time?? |

As much as I would love to give everyone a discount, our prices are already too low (according to industry professionals) and will likely go up in the near future. We've had gentlemen take our classes and tell us that they exceed what is taught at tier one schools located out of state. As far as legal info, we aren't attorneys and therefore don't focus on legal issues. While we do cover certain aspects of the law and insure that students know where to review state codes, we don't focus on the "what if" game, as it's an exercise in futility. What we provide is a top notch combat shooting program like none other in the midwest. Our class will progress at the maximum spreed allowable and we will teach as much as possible during our time with the students. If you want to learn the real deal from professionals that train police, military, swat, etc, then take our class. If all you want is the cheapest class necessary to attain a permit, there are other classes that will better fit that bill. We offer the type of training that people travel a great distance to obtain and we have literally had special military units travel half-way around the world to train with us. We offer the absolute best value in training available today. If that's not good enough then I don't know what else to say to convince you |

Should of got the class taken late fall, but having a shitty paying job makes it hard to spend the cash.... that or maybe its because i spent 1300 on my AR, one of the two
the discount part was just thrown in for fun... i was more curious if there was any type of Legal subjects covered in the class, and you answered that. No need to try and convince me its top notch... Septic spoke very highly of the class last fall when i was up there, and i tend to take his word (big old Jerk, but knows his shit). |

I just wanted to take a moment to further explain who we are and what we do. We like to make sure that people understand what it is that makes our training more expensive than the run of the mill class. We just want everyone to understand that comparing us to them isn't comparing apples to apples, but more like apples to dump trucks. |

On the way home from the basic rifle course, and just wanted to say, anyone who had a chance to take it and didn't made a big mistake.
Had a great time, nobody got hurt (except some steel gongs) and much was learned... now its time to hit the range and work on what I learned some more. Thank you again cca sirs... great way to spend easter sunday |

Will this weekend be the only women's only pistol class? Wife has her CCW but she definetely needs more training. I'm not sure yet. I don't think this will be the only one, but they will be limited offerings. I'm working on one for a Wednesday in June, but 10 of the 14 slots are already filled. As soon as I have a definite date I will post it here first, but keep in mind that the slots will fill quickly. |

I assumed things would start slow since we were new and people don't usually like to be the first one to try something. Now that we've gotten some civilian courses under our belts, word of mouth is starting to pay off. |

Any idea on when we might see another basic pistol class???
Was reading some horror stories at work tonight, and I really need some more training with the pistol, "practice doesn't make perfect, perfect practice makes perfect"...and all that Try and space it out far enough from tax rifle 1...so my account can recover |

Early June. sweet... well my brother and I will definitely be attending, and i have a friend that is considering it (going through a divorce so money is a little tight) and to the name stealer above me, id highly recommend the class... we had a great time, learned alot, and you couldnt find 2 better instructors in Iowa (not a fan of kissing ass, but i was impressed and they did a great job). For the cost of a normal trip to the range, you can easily justify it in your budget. |

i think i counted 13... great way to spend Easter. I over heard Romp saying something like he only likes about 6 or 7 students per instructor or something, so class size should never be over that. Thanks for the kind words Joel. The instructor/student ratio for the pistol class is limited to 1:7 as well. I felt that was the best number for the safety of the students and it allows plenty of one on one interaction as well. |
|
Agree with Rick 100% on the ratio...this way we can give personal instruction after all, this is your hard earned money, we want a safe range where you feel comfortable and can pick up some things.
And thanks again for the words Joel, it was great having you and your brother in class....looking forward to seeing you guys in the intermediate class late summer. We have some really fun new stuff ready for it.....
