Am I the only one that thinks all this hype about shall issue will hush up in a hurry by February?

I hear almost nightly about how horrible it will be once this law takes affect on the news.

I suspect once the law kicks in people will shut up real quick when crime is not affected and they don't want to draw attention to their failed predictions.

I think it will be later than Feb. but I think the Chicken Littles will find something else to cry about by August. Maybe it will be about adding RKBA to our constitution, maybe it will be Constitutional carry. I am sure they will find something new to talk about by June. 8)

i think that'll be the way it goes...  there has been plenty of time to get all worked about it on both sides.  i suspect they'll be some minor growing pains and then things will fall into line.

I would imagine that most any other state that has very many Liberals has seen the same outcry. Once the claims are shown to be bullshit the fervor dies and it is all forgotten by the general public. Remember when the AWB died? What happened then.

actually larry, even the conservative states had some perception problems when implementing these changes and certainly when fighting for the cause.  but as is always the case, there were no actual problems - just scared notions that proved hollow.

I am sure you are right Michael but it always seems to be louder and have more "blood in the streets$" in more liberal states.

certainly.  i was surprised to learn though that even the traditionally 'conservative' states had some LE bawling about the law changes.  most of which actually freely admit afterwards that the concerns were only that - unfounded concerns - and that nothing they were worried about came to pass.  no rise in crime and many times crime dropped.  no conflicts and guns blazing in wal mart's parking lot, etc...

this'll be the case here too.  the unknown will cause our human condition to fear change, and then when the change occurs it'll become learned behavior, and then accepted...

the real question here is how we all handle it in between this stage and the last.  i'm hoping we can all resort to taking the high road, as orgs and as individuals...
