Feb. 28th, Fort Dodge Fairgrounds

I'll be there to watch and maybe learn something.
Just in case anyone else wants to kill a day watching guns go either too high or too cheap.

I've been to some of their other auctions and they seem to have been decent.  This one seems to be a mix of this and that.

By the way, I'm in no way affiliated with the auction co.

Been to several gun auctions over the years.  You almost never get a good deal.

We'll just doing an AAR I guess. Went to the auction with a couple of buddies. Everything went for way too much except a couple of Belgium made A-5s and Ruger Model 1s. So I bought one of the Ruger's in 223 for $550.

Now to find a nice scope to go with it

Sweet rifle as I've always liked the Model 1 Rugers, chambered in .223 will make a nice "economical" rifle to shoot and will last a lifetime or two.

Thats what I figured and it will be a handy little rifle for coyotes and maybe a pig hunting trip down to Texas

It's good to see you got a new gun!  I too was amazed at how cheap the Browning "Belgum" A5's went for.  All about $225 - $250.  There were over 425 registered bidders with numbers and overall was a great auction for the family selling the guns.  For me, it was almost a wasted day due to everything bringing fairly good money.  A friend that went with me, ended up with a little overpriced revolver.

Good to hear it will help the family. The prices were not to bad till they hit the Winchester long guns then things got ridiculous and carried through to the pistols. I was amazed by that the ruger rifles went for what they did.
