this stuff is important.

does everyone hear understand the difference and know what i'm talking about?

i'd like to provide some very clear and easy to understand commentary on what joe blow can do with a couple of key strokes on his computer in an effort to provide you, the iowa citizens, full and immediate access to those rules, regs, code, etc. that we are being asked to follow.

don't be bashful about this.  honestly i think i can make this realy simple if you guys are interested.  are you with me?

i'm looking for all of you to say something here, not just the "regular" crowd i run with here on the forum.  this has an impact on us all, so i'd like to know your thoughts.

thanks,

michael

sorry man,  I like to learn new things, but we're all screwed in the end anyway.  Even a win, could be a financial loss.  I guess the best thing is to stay off of various radar screens, by doing the right thing and not pissing off our nosy neighbors.

while i don't disagree with you, you can't avoid the radar.  i think you already know that.

changing the system from within is the most viable option for little pukes like me.  thus, if i'm going to bend the rulebook, i must know it first...

Quoted:
There's no way to rule innocent men. The only power any government has is its power to crack down on criminals. Well, when there aren't enough criminals, one makes them. One declares so many things to be a crime that it becomes impossible for men to live without breaking laws. Who wants a nation of law-abiding citizens? What's there in that for anybody? But just pass the kinds of laws that can neither be observed, nor enforced, nor objectively interpreted - and you create a nation of law-breakers - and then you cash in on guilt.
-- Ayn Rand, Atlas Shrugged, p. 406

I think this would be appropriate here.

It only lets you choose one vote.

Although I would be interested in a tutorial, I chose the better answer and will let you figure out what you want to do.

I disagree.  I can remember as a young man the disappointment I felt when we had to start locking our doors at night.

I would love to live in "Mayberry".

I am a reserve deputy in SW Iowa and I don't think people realize how different officers interpret the code in different ways. I think the more you know the code the better you are going to be able to defend/explain your rights if/when questioned about your gun ccw or transport rights.

I am not saying get into a pissing match on the side of the road because you will lose even if you are right, I'm just saying it might help to show how you are trying to stay within code while still exercising your right to defend yourself or transport your weapons.

What are you planning on with this? Just curious, and a little confused by your post.

i was going to develop a "flow chart" type of thing with the links to the sites and their associated sub pages so that joe blow regardless of need (gun, property, etc.) could go and look up code, chapters, section, paragraph, etc.

i'd like them to be able to use the "tools" provided by law as a matter of public access for themselves.  if there isn't any interest, i won't fuck around with it, because i can make my way through it already.

don't get me wrong dave, i'm not suggesting that i make everyone a curbside lawyer, but more importantly aware.  i believe if you know the rules, you're more likely to follow them and all parties will be safer.  also, if you're in the know on what is messed up you can be a part of the solution and discontinue being part of the problem.

do you agree?

Septic, I'd like to see somthing like this.

Most of my family is in Iowa & I've been bringing some of my stuff back home every time I come back for a visit. So I'll be living back in Iowa again before too long.

When I left Iowa 10 years ago, all I had for guns was a shotgun & a 10/22. I really wasn't concerned about what the laws said. Now, I'm a gun nut, with a larger collection & what the laws say are alot more important to me.

So, I guess what I'm saying is, it would be a big help.

I just don't know about you Septic....Just Kidding!  You are really hooked on the code stuff now aren't you?  If you need any help let me know.

If you are willing to devote the time by all means go forward. I have tried to bookmark different webpages, and all I end up with is a huge list.

i'll be taking you up on that.  if you don't mind i'd like to spend a few weeks honing my skills and then i'll make contact with you.

first i want to see if i can learn it myself and learn navigating it well turns out to be as easy as i think it can be.  then, i'd like to bounce my ideas for a "flow chart" off you to make certain the information, terms, and nomenclature are correct.

thanks!

That sounds good.  Id be happy to give some insight.  You wont have much trouble with a flow chart.  I think thats a good idea.  All the code is easily accessible online thrugh the legislative websites.  I wouldn't get too worried about the admin side though, its a God-awful mess, plus there isn't a whole lot that pertains to what you will be looking for I think.

I'd be very interested in seeing this.  Always remember, ignorance of the law is no excuse.  The more we as individuals know, the better off we are at preserving our own and others rights.
