Anyone else in the state just their power back?  Mine went out at about 4 PM yesterday (Saturday) and turned back on Sunday around 11:00 AM.
Got a little chilly in here.  I guess it has been going out all over the state.  Having our oun form of "Lights Out" here in IA.

Stay warm, all.

Ours went out yesterday for about 3 hrs. I just got the driveway shoveled out. Damn, that was heavy snow!

we lost ours for about 3 hours last night too.

Between the snow in my driveway and the snow in the neighbor's driveway (85+ yr old lady) I am about due for a nap.

I shoveled mine and was wore out from it.  Some places are still without power.  I figured by now it would be up and running for everyone.

sat night we grilled pork chops on the deck, then played monopoly with the kids until dark.
after that me and the wife spent the night in front of the fireplace

i wonder if anyone will mind if i kill the power again tonight

I guess we lucked out over here, didn't lose any power.  Yea, we got snow, but not, I think, as much as they were predicting.

Lost it in Coralville about 5 pm Saturday.  Got it back 9 am Sunday.  Iowa City seemed hit or miss.  Coralville south of the interstate didn't lose it at all.

Weather was just crappy enough that I didn't get to any of the three gunshows in the state this weekend.

Mine went out about 14:30 Sat., got power back around 23:00 Sun. night.

Got a little chilly in the house, until I fired up the Kero heater I got earlier this winter. Plenty of candles & extra blankets to get by, no big deal.

There are some areas of my town still without power, though.

Heard on the news there were 160,000 residents without power.

Fortunately this did not happen 2 or 3 weeks ago, when the temps were at 0 degrees & below.

Yeah, then we'd really be in sore shape.  There are power lines and trees down all around town.  I am not looking forward to going to work Tuesday night.  Maybe they'll have it all cleaned up by then

Well I just got power back. Lost it at about 16:10 on Sat. and just got it back (I hope for good) about an hour ago (19:00 on Mon.). It was pretty bad around here SW Clinton Co. out in the boonies. Everywhere was out for about a day. Some places still don't have power.

Trying to warm the place up right now. Will go spend the night at my mom's again tonight  since I tore my water pump down and ran as much RV anti-freeze into it and the pipes as I could get. They were saying it might be 3- 10 days before we got power where I am at so I figured I had better do something.

Ordered a generator today but won't get it until tomorrow. Even though the power is back up I am still going to get the damn thing. Another storm coming and things here aren't 100% normal so i will at least have some power if things go down again. It got pretty damn cold here (40 * thisafternoon inside) and I am not going through this shit to the same extent again. May have to lurk the Survival Forum for some general ideas.

Won't be on here long tonight but will try to check back tomorrow if all goes well.

There's more bad weather in the forecast.  Rain and snow.  I was hoping we were going to be out of this.

Looks like we're in for more.  Parts of the county still do not have power and as I looked outside before I went to work, there was more snow on the ground.  Yay.

Stay warm, all.

This is one of the very few times I am glad I am in the city.

Looking at the closures, I am also realizing one of the cool things about my chosen profession.  Too bad I have so much to do that I won't be able to properly enjoy the crappy weather.
