Any of you Dakota guys know where a couple responsible Illinois guys can go shoot some dogs? We are a couple middle aged, experienced deer, turkey, waterfowl, etc. hunters. We have been shooting for many years and have had professional firearms training. We have been wanting to shoot praire dogs for years but just never got around to setting it up. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. |

I suggest east river.. west river is overrun with pdoggers Stop in at the Dew Drop Inn at Miller, get a room for a week and tell the mgr you're looking for places to shoot pdog and coyote. Also stop in at Turtle Creek Saloon and ask around, you'l find a butt load of pdogs and coyotes to shoot. Seriously, east river pdoggin is much better because you don't have nearly as many people shootin. |
| Just got back from a 4day Pdog slaughter! I've been shooting dogs for twenty years & within the past 5 or 6 it seems like this sport is going crazy. I've never seen this many pdog shooters west of the river in my life. I'm looking for a new place to shoot , perhaps Kansas or somwhere east of the river. |

Pretty soon it will be like pheasant hunting. It will cost $$$ to get to the good spots. |

The Hand, Hyde, Buffalo, Brule, Hughes and Sully County areas in South Dakota are still RELATIVELY "untouched" when it comes to pdoggin. By RELATIVELY "untouched" I mean that there isn't the large herd of PDog shooters like there is west river. BTW - east river = the east side of the Missouri River west river = the west side of the Missouri River |
