Anyone getting out and having any luck killing coyotes? I got out and found den sites the other day when it was warm, and there were lots of tracks in the mud. I'm working up a load for my new .22-250, and my Form 1 should be here soon for my Noveske SBR. Can't wait to get out and at least set some traps.

YES
DNR REGS PAGE 6 "Note 3: Residents possessing a valid base license may hunt coyote during the established season." I think that's pretty clear. Shoot them. No bag limit. |

Did they approve night shooting yet? I'm coming with a Flir soon. Night shooting has always been allowed. Just not with center fire. I used 22Mag and 12ga Hornady Heavy Magnum Coyote BB depending what cover we are in. Hornday VMax 22mag does the job. Ive been looking at .17 Win. Super Mag recently to reach out alittle more. Nighttime Furbearer Regulations The following regulations apply for all nighttime furbearer hunting. • Artificial lights are only permissible when hunting from Sept. 15 - Mar. 31. - Only the use of artificial lights, similar to the type ordinarily held in the hand or on the person, such as flashlights, portable battery-powered spotlights, and headlamps, may be used. • A licensed individual may travel afoot with only a bow and arrow, crossbow, a rimfire firearm .22 caliber or smaller, or shotgun with loads other than buckshot, slug, or cut shell. • When hunting with dogs, an individual may only possess a loaded firearm, a cocked crossbow, or bow with a nocked arrow at the point of kill. • All fur harvesters using a .22 or smaller caliber rimfire to take a furbearing animal, day or night, from Nov. 10 to 14, must have a fur harvester license. • Limited Firearm Deer Zone restrictions must be followed from Nov. 15-30. |

I should have included centerfire in my statement. It was a MI HTF first page topic, so I assumed it was understood what I was referring to. I want to use some subsonic blackout to knock these pests out of Michigan.

As to your BO, you're going to be disappointed then because based on the current group with the petition, they're only asking that calibers up to .224 be allowed so your .300 will be a no go EVEN if the petition is approved as presented. You should read that thread. I laid out my viewpoints on why that approach is wrong and we should NEVER negotiate against ourselves. There's no reason I shouldn't be able to use my 6.8 if I want, and as you'll read in that thread, the poaching argument is pure fantasy BULLSHIT! |

Big dog with nice fur, great job. It's nice to see someone else from Northern Mich connect while calling. I've had tremendous success hunting them in West Texas, it's a whole new ball game up here, again great job! If we get centerfire at night passed and then adding thermal, I'm hoping my odds go up. The reality is we call in many more than we know are there especially in a woods environment even using lights. |

I've got 7 this season, during a tournament two weeks ago i called in 8 and missed 2, didn't have shots on the rest due to them being too far out at night. Female howls are working well. But i did hear quite a few were taken during the extreme predator hunt last weekend with pheasant and Turkey distress |
It's a coyote, aren't they always up to that?
