Hey, y'all. Any Arfcommers in the UP? Anybody around the Keweenaw peninsula? Looks like I might be visiting the area in early December. Wondering about things to do, see. If anybody has suggestions, or thoughts about life in that part of the world, please post up.
Thanks. |

Use to stay up there. Have family still up in Houghton.
Heres a few places I can remember. http://www.librarybrewpub.com/ http://theambassadorhoughton.com/ http://www.joeys-grill.com/ As far as things to do in December, not much other than snow mobiles and skiing. http://mmpowersports.com/reserve-your-rental/ |

Tech is having a pretty good hockey season, catch a game if they are home that weekend and playing. Soumi cafe for breakfast The Michigan House / Red Jacket Brewing Co in Calumet has darn good food and beer. Loading Zone II in Lake Linden has pretty decent thin crust pizza but the Ambassador is the "go to" place in the Keweenaw for pizza. Otherwise, yeah, drink beer, snowmobile, ski, skate and ice fishing... Could find yourself a sorority chick to cuddle up to I guess. Seamen mineral museum has a cool collection if you are into geology. Most of the other historical sites are closed for the Winter. The rest is dependent upon how adventurous you are and what kind of driving "skills" you possess... |
