Hey guys -

New to the forums.

Looking to get into reloading, where is the best place to get reloading gear in South East Michigan? I know Cabelas has some gear but I'm looking for other places to go as well. Maybe more local? (Around Livonia Area).

Looking for

Powder
Primers
Brass
Bullets

Anybody know of any places?

Thanks guys!

Reloading supplies are extremely overpriced in retail stores around SE MI.  Buy a press from Dillon Precision direct, watch the video they supply and read Lyman reloading manual or ABC's of Reloading.

Then keep an eye on the interwebz for sales.  Buy everything in lots of 5k to keep costs down.  Yes, it may sit for a while - it doesn't go bad.

Google "Centennial Company" that's Kurt who has a shop in Marine City. He stocks and/or can get components. His shop is far for you, but he does usually have tables at the Gibralter gun shows which will be a lot closer.

Scantz Supply in Otsego

I just re-read the OP, he said SE Michigan, not SW

I am also in Livonia.   Shooter service has some stuff.   It is hit or miss on availability and some of it can be overpriced.  I order almost all of my supplies.   Widner's.....Third Generation Shooting Supply.....Powder Valley are all good internet places.   Cabelas and Bass Pro has been good to me lately with far prices for 1lb cans to experiment with different loads.

Kurt in Marine City is great to deal with.   Give him a call and try to meet up at one of the Gibraltar shows.   I have bought ALOT of stuff from Kurt over the years.

Westborn in Taylor has powder, primers and bullets. Some RCBS dies and such. If your trying to do this as cheaply as possible. Then I suggest a Lee single stage start up kit. They are like $120 and you get most of what you need to start up. If you need a link just email me and I can look up what you want.

I know for me. Cost is a big factor. So, I went with Lee. Is it the best? Does it work? Yep.

+1 on the Lee, good set to start with and affordable. I do not load large amounts and the Lee single stage is good for what I do. Unfortunately I do not know of a local place, I used to buy powder and primer locally but they do not have much in stock anymore.

The Mt. Clemens Gibraltar gun show is this weekend. I'll have to go see Kurt again.  Maybe it's time for another gun.
