Wanted to say hello and thanks for the great resources on this forum. I am going to be moving to Michigan in about a month (military). I will be stationed in northern Detroit. I am going to be in the area in about 2 weeks to find a place to live and want to get an idea of where best to look. Does anyone have any info on good areas to live, local chief LEs that are gun/suppressor friendly, places to avoid. Also, are there any major issues I should be aware of when moving to MI?
Thanks in advance... |

yeah, I figured I would be alright as long as I stayed north of the base. Thankfully I don't have any SBR's so I am good there. Got to figure out all the fun with pistols though...
As for Selfridge, I am really looking forward to it and will be with the Marine unit there. I have heard nothing but good things about it...especially being an outdoors type. |

For the pistols it's easy, show up, get drivers Mi drivers license, once you have license in hand head over to the sheriff to get a purchase permit for each pistol, fill out both buyer and seller sections with your info, drop off completed paperwork back at the sheriff. As for housing, you can add Harrison Twp or St Clair Shores to the acceptable places south of the base. SCS is a bit expensive though. |
