I keep reading about steampunk in GD.
Is there anything going on in Michigan?

Could you be more specific? Is this in terms of literature, artwork, model building or other sub-culture stuff (cosplay. conventions, etc.)?

I read "The Difference Engine" back in the early 1990's. Not much else after that.

Without googling it there's also that anime convention at the Ren Cen.
