- Basic Carbine was designed to give the student the information on set up and use of an AR15 effectively. The only shooting in this class will be zeroing and basic shooting positions. This class is about setting up, cleaning and having a very good basic understanding of the AR15.

- Precision Rifle 1 will give the student a very good basic understanding of their precision rifle. This class will also give you the basics of making an excellent shot within 100/200 yards and why you would want to be able to have that ability.

- Precision Rifle 2 will work on moving that engagement envelope out to 500 meters. It is the next step in being able to be a proficient precision rifle shooter. After you have mastered Precision Rifle 1 and Precision Rifle 2, stretching your shot envelope out to 900 meters is a breeze. These two classes are also an excellent start for a person going into Law Enforcement or Military Sniper operations.

Who are the instructors?

I don't like putting the names of our instructors on the open net, unless they want to do it themselves and that's even if they tell me ok. However we have a good diverse group of instructors and advisors on staff. Depending on which class you take will determine who the instructors will be, however everyone has had input into our class lesson plans.

Our instructors include: A Marine Infantry Combat Veteran with 2 tours in Iraq as a door kicker Infantryman, Designated Marksman and as a security detail instructor, who is also very, very well versed in unarmed combat and is a competitive shooter. A writer for Swat magazine who also is a active Fire Fighter with certifications in Medical First Aid Responder, is a competitive tactical shooter, AR15/M16 certified Armorer, weapons authority, and has attened numerous training classes. A full time Swat Team Police officer who is also a U.S. Army Infantry Combat Veteran with the 82nd Airborne, a FBI trained Sniper, multiple weapon Armorer certifications and is a competitive shooter. A Active U.S. Army Bronze Star awarded Infantry Combat Veteran Officer who was a full time police officer before he entered the U.S. Army, has weapon Armorer certifications and has done competitive shooting. And finally me, A U.S. Army Michigan National Guard 19Delta Air Cavalry Long Range Recon Scout. I have certifications in numerous NRA desiplines, NRA Range Safety Officer, AR15/M16 and Shotgun certified Armorer, worked making Sniper rifles and precision long range rifles for a respected weapons manufacturer, taken numerous training classes in addition to my years in the Guard and have done competitive shooting as well.

We have a lot of old school training as well as the new school TTP's.

So what does all of that mean? Nothing to us if the information we teach isn't good or if we can't get our students to be more proficent in self defense. That's how we look at it. We believe people should take classes from multiple instructors, because even if you know a lot, you'll always learn something new. We don't believe any instructor is "better" than another, if you try to learn what they are teaching and use critical thinking to see if it's going to benefit you in your situation. One instructor may focus more on accuracy, one on something else and we know you'll gain a lot if you are exposed to different theories and take away from it what you need. We REALLY believe in safety and in having a proficiency and knowledge box and the only thing you'll get out of it, is what you put in it. We teach our students to be critical thinkers and to be proactive, and that means all the way down to the prepping of their equipment and equipment selection to suit their personal needs and issues they deal with. Something that a Combat Infantryman uses may or may not be right for the home owner to use in self defense. We try to get the student to see what the most appropriate thing is for their situation. We explore all of that and try to give as much information as possible for the student to think about and to choose in their own situation, as well as teaching good solid, fundamental fighting skills which will help our students stay alive when their life is on the line. Using a gun in a life threatening situaiton to defend yourself is not for babies and has real life consequences, which we try to get across. It's a serious subject and we treat it as such, however we also try to have a really good time with our students as we go through it. Classes, even if they are serious in nature should be ejnoyable to attend. Along with the weapons information and skills, we teach about "how to" and what to "look for" so you don't have to get into a self defense situation where you may have to take anothers life. Our goal is to help educate people on keeping out of a fight as much sucessful fighting skills which will keep you a live if you do have to use them.

I hope this answers your question about our instructors.

Here's a free bump.  I'm definitely interested in the Advanced and Tactical carbine classes.

I do some competitive shooting and have been shooting for years.  Should I take the Basic/Fundamental Carbine courses before signing up for the Advanced level?

Thanks for the bump Meta4.

I would highly suggest at least taking our Fundamental Carbine course before you take our Advanced and Tactical courses, even if you have other classes under your belt. You will pick up some really good insight and tips on how to survive a fight using a carbine. We have a skill set that you should have before you attend the upper level courses. Plus we have a prerequisite that you attend our Fundamental Carbine course or another instructors beginning class, that we recognize, before we allow people to move up to the Advanced and Tactical level classes. This benefits the student taking it as well as the other students who have the skill sets they need to make the most out of the upper level classes. So in a word, yeah... , I suggest the Fundamental class if you are looking for self defense skills with a carbine.

As for the "Basic Carbine" course, this is ALL about the gun, what you are looking at, how to understand it, how to recognize if you are getting ripped off or not, how to maintain it, how to keep yourself out of legal trouble, how to clean it, disassemble and reassemble it properly while knowing what you should be looking for while preforming these tasks, how often you should actually clean it for good accuracy and maintenance, what accessories are good and not so good for a fighting carbine, how to start with a good zero (not what most people think), how to load it, handle malfunctions and manipulations, how to understand those malfucntions and how to properly shoot accurately in fundamental positions. If you are looking to save yourself a LOT of money and time, and want to understand what make for a good "fighting" gun, this class is a must and it is well worth taking. I have compiled years and years of study on this subject matter, as well as put in a lot of information from others who have been in actual combat zones using these things. This class may not be the high speed, shoot a lot of rounds type of class, however it's one that could save your life and your check book.

Hope that helps and look forward to seeing you in our classes.

Had a great time at the Fundamental Carbine Class a few weeks back; the class helped to hone some perishable skills and recalibrate the mindset.  That course should be taken by anyone who has a carbine & considers it a tool they may use to defense their selves or their family.   I’ve been a gun guy for many years and still walked out of the class with some good information.

Looking forward your Precision Rifle Class in a few weeks.

Due to the lack of adaquate range or State land facilities, our Precision Rifle 2 class on July 23rd has been cancelled. We have made arrangements to be able to hold this class in 2012.
