I was hoping some of you could shed some light on if you think we'll have a problem getting two camp sites at a State forest campground.  My family and my in-laws are planning on leaving Lake City on 7/5 and heading to the Eastern UP.  The state parks are all booked, and the state forests don't allow reservations.  My wife was looking at SF campgrounds at Milakokia Lake, Garnett Lake, Little Brevort Lake (N and S), Holland Lake, Pretty Lake, Perch Lake, Blind Sucker #1 or #2, High Bridge, Headquarters Lake, Kingston Lake, East Branch of Fox River.

Does anyone have any experience w/ these?  Can you recommend one over the other?  Will we be able to get two campsites (ideally next to one another) from 7/5 to 7/8?

Thanks!

Right after the 4th? Should be no problem, after the holiday people bug out quickly back to real life.

I've never had trouble getting a site at either of the Blind Sucker campgrounds.  You can get to county road 407 off of M-123.  If you can find the trail leading to it, fishing in Rainy Lake - west of Deer Park - is pretty good.

It's been awhile since I've been there but there used to be 6-8 sites at Snyder Lake along highway M-77 north of Seney.
