I will be moving soon but I will still unfortunately be living in Wayne County. I searched both the MSP and the Wayne County Sheriff's web site and I could not find any information about address changes. I have called the Wayne County Sheriff who directed me to the Wayne County Clerks office who informed me I need to inform the gun board. They transferred my call, I left a message and haven't heard a thing.
Am I even on the right track? Is there info somewhere on address changes. Thanks, |

This is the only info I could find from the FAQ's: 4. I received my original Concealed Pistol License after July 1, 2001 and have since moved to another county. Do I need to reapply in the new county? No. The Concealed Pistol License is a state license and a change of county residency does not change the status. However, when your license expires, the renewal of that license should occur in your new county of residence. County clerk should be able to answer the question though. I would think that changing your address at the Sect. of State would be enough. After all when a cop runs your name in the computer your info comes from Sec. of State. Did find another interesting tidbit doing searching on this topic. 9. Do pellet pistols have to be registered? MCL 28.421 Although, there is an occasional misconception that pellet pistols only require registration if they are over .177 caliber, that caliber designation only applies to guns made exclusively for propelling BB's. A pellet pistol, does fall under the definition of a firearm, and is subject to all License to Purchase, Safety Inspection Certificate and Concealed Pistol License requirements. Because I may or may not have a pellet pistol that may or may not have been obtained at a flea market without a transfer. |
| I'm still in the same county, I just wondered if I had to inform them of the new address. There isn't any address listed on the CPL and I went and changed my drivers license today. The Secretary of Stae employees had no clue so I stopped at the MSP post and they weren't sure what to do either. |

http://www.mcrgo.org/mcrgo/d_ccwfaq.asp How do I go about changing the address on my Concealed Pistol License (CPL)?
There is no requirement in the statute that you have to notify anyone when you move after receiving a CPL. In fact there is no procedure established to change your address on the CPL on in the State Police database. However a section of the law (MCL28.425f) states: An individual who is licensed under this act to carry a concealed pistol shall show both of the following to a peace officer upon request by that officer: (a) His or her CPL. (b) His or her drivers license or Michigan personal identification card. Since you must change your address on your drivers license or Michigan ID card, you will have documentation of your new address in your possession. |
