Good location for it. Large landing area. No cops around and no one calls the police in Detroit anyway. Freeway right down the road. They would be out of Wayne Co. before DPD even gets to the scene. Plus anyone calling 911 to report someone parachuting downtown would get blown off. 911 would think they were on crack.
Even if someone reports their Youtube video the max they get is a tresspassing ticket. In Detroit that ticket will be lost in the system forever. Even if they put a warrant out, Detroit doesn't have the cops to pick them up anywhere on a ticket. Im guessing you'll see more once word gets out. Detroit/Ren Cen should market it. But then the Dems would want to put a entertainment tax on it. |

I just checked the math on that jump and wow, that was insane.
I'm sure it would be one to brag about in the base jump community. The building is only 727 feet tall. A 500 ft base jump would take just over 5 seonds to hit the ground with out a chute. The glide time once deployed would be10-15 seconds. Theres alot of internet stuff on that jump if you google it. The Ren Cen is only at about 30% capacity. Theres nothing vital in there any more and its security staff are a bunch of minimum wagers. They probably got in through an open delivery door or hell just walked right in the front door. |
