I live up near Alpena in a small town called Hillman. Friend of mine had his glock stolen out of his truck on Sunday when we were out running around. Just figured I might let some of you folks know there is a freshly stolen glock running around.

Fucking people taking shit pisses me off.

Model....serial number....any aftermarket parts....etc?

Man sorry to hear about that shit, i'll keep my eyes and ears open for ya bro.

I grew up in hillman during the summers when I was a kid, my dad had some land up there and we would go up every weekend. I love Hillman and will buy some of my own land one of these days up there, our place was on Funk road, 86 acres.

I live in Gaylord, I will keep my ears open...  Criminals don't know how to keep their mouth shut, that is why they ALWAYS (sooner or later) get caught.  Try to get a serial #, that way if they try to pawn it or succeed in pawning, someone may be able to "drop the hammer" on them (so to speak).

If you are gonna carry it- carry it!  More than just from your house to your car & back again.

It's not always possible to keep your gun ON you... I for example go to a college that doesnt like to me to carry my gun to class... so currently its in my car... If someone really wants it, they're going to get it, regardless of how it's secured...

=======

Hope it gets found.

Believe me...  There is nowhere in Hillman that you  can't carry.  The town is only 3-4 blocks large.  I know the carry laws, been doing it for many years.  I have even carried when & where you are not supposed to, usually just because I forget I am carrying (but also for the fact that it is concealed and nobody knows I have it anyways).

But back to our previously scheduled program...

I was up in Atlanta today, not a sight of your Pistola to be found. I was thinking about it and talking with friends while at breakfast this morning at that little red diner on the slip road around "town".

Ummmmm....... Not exactly true.
A person who holds a CPL may open carry in a bar.
AG opinion No. 7097
FIREARMS LAWS OF MICHIGAN January 11, 2002:  This conclusion is not
affected by the provisions of section 234d of the Michigan Penal Code,
1931 PA 328,
MCL 750.1 et seq. That
statute prohibits certain persons from possessing firearms on certain
types of premises as follows:   Sec. 234d (1) Except as otherwise
provided in subsection (2), a person shall not possess a firearm on the
premises of any of the following:
a) A depository financial institution or a subsidiary or affiliate of a depository financial institution.

b) A church or other house of religious worship.

c) A court.

d) A theatre.

e) A sports arena.

f) A day care center.

g) A hospital.

h) An establishment licensed under the Michigan liquor control act.

(2) This section does not apply to any of the following:

a) A person who owns, or is employed by or contracted by, an entity described in subsection (1) if the possession

of that firearm is to provide security services for that entity.

b) A peace officer.

c) A person licensed by this state or another state to carry a concealed weapon.

d) A person who possesses a firearm on the premises of an entity
described in subsection (1) if that possession is with the permission
of the owner or an agent of the owner of that entity. [Emphasis added.]
By its express terms, section 234d prohibits certain persons from
carrying a firearm in the enumerated places but explicitly exempts from
its prohibition “[a] person licensed by this state or another state to
carry a concealed weapon.” Thus,
any person licensed to carry a concealed pistol,… is exempt from the
gun-free zone restrictions imposed by section 234d of the Penal Code
and may therefore possess firearms while on the types of premises
listed in that statute.

Lumpy , while this may be true (not arguing your point) my point was it is not legal to carry everywhere , as Pathfinder seems to believe.  Schools/courts are still off limits open or CC carry , right?

No shit Rocky!!!  We both know I already know that, for Christ's sake...  We've both gone to La's and Ruby's, etc...  But, yes!  You can carry at schools, just not in them.  Courts?  No-   Police stations?  Yes-  Bars?  Yes (as long as you are not drinking, but we both know how that goes, don't we, felon...-  Library's? Yes-   Theatre?  Yes-  Work?  If they allow it-  And so-on & so-on.  Don't seem to believe, I know where you can & can't.  We both know that...

All I know is if I have to leave my gun in my car, I secure it in my beretta bag and lock it up.  Is that not the law in Michigan that if you leave your gun in the car it must be secured and unloaded?  Could have swore I read that in the rules book when I got my CCW.

And if it is the law, and it was NOT secured, is there any repurcussion for not doing so?  Basically your friend just made it easier for some dip shit to steal his Glock.

I understand the thought process of if they want it, they are going to get it.  But at least make it a challenge.
