Earp The fake suppressor is just a slip-on so if you take it off, it will be just the pencil thin barrel. You can install a collapsible stock on it but you will have to register it as a pistol. The following pics can be seen HERE

| From what I read the GSG5 has a 16"barrel and an OAL on 33.5" with normal fixed stock. Therefore is a legal rifle in MI. If you want one with a stock the barrel has to be 16". If you buy the pistol version with a shorter barrel, its fine but can never have a stock put on it or else its an illegal short barreled rifle. If you put a colapsable stocck on a GSG5 rifle, the OAL must be greater that 26" when the stock is folded. Because of MI silly definition of a pistol, if the OAL is between 26" and 30" it needs to be registered as a pistol. |

Greg, I thought here in MI a pistol with a stock is a no-no? But then, the PS90...what the hell do I know? It is a no-no to have a pistol(less than 16" barrel) with a stock. That would make it a short barreled rifle. However as said above, if a rifle(which has to have a 16"+ barrel to be cosidered a rifle) can be collapsed to within 26" to 30", it is within the pistol length and must be registered as so. ie. an u/f ak must be registered as a pistol because it can still be fired in the folded position. 750.222 Definitions. (e) “Pistol” means a loaded or unloaded firearm that is 30 inches or less in length, or a loaded or unloaded firearm that by its construction and appearance conceals itself as a firearm. (j) “Rifle” means a firearm designed or redesigned, made or remade, and intended to be fired from the shoulder and designed redesigned and made or remade to use the energy of the explosive in a fixed metallic cartridge to fire only a single projectile through a rifled bore for each single pull of the trigger. (k) “Short-barreled rifle” means a rifle having 1 or more barrels less than 16 inches in length or a weapon made from a rifle, whether by alteration, modification, or otherwise, if the weapon as modified has an overall length of less than 26 inches. |
