Are they really worth the price?  I wear cargo pants/shorts 99.99% but cannot afford to pay $50/pair.  I make do w/ non-tactical brand alternatives that I pick up on clearance @ Meijer: $10/pair for Emergency Exit brand.  They are probably not built to the same standards w/ triple stitching & whatnot, but they seem to hold up ok.

Bought some 5.11s.
They hang in the closet.
Can't get used to the fit.
Woolrich is supposed to be much better, but I haven't tried them yet.

For work,
I wear 5.11, and tru spec.  Very happy with both brands.  The only thing I didn't like about the 5.11 TDU pants, is they seem to run small.  Their coats are great!

The nice thing about being a 5.11 dealer, is that I get to try stuff :)

Well, I can see how being free could make them a more attractive option.

There is a uniform store on Orchard Lake Road in Keego Harbor that sells them.  The uniform store on M-59 just west of Telegraph has them too.

I really like my Woolrich Elite pants.  Heavy fabric, and lots of pockets.  The two smaller pockets up front (511's only have one) are great for cell phones, USB memory sticks, ect.  They are great for the colder weather that starting to hit us now.

Plus they don't make you look like a tacticool poser.

Here is what they look like, www.woolricheliteseriestactical.com/products/elitepant.htm

Here is yours truly wearing them with my Open Carry Yorkie ©,

Joe's Surplus store?

I was going to suggest them. I haven't seen 5.11s there but when I go, I don't really check the apparel out that closely. They do also carry Propper BDUs. I have some Propper cargo shorts and they are really well made.

FWIW Whenever I see the "Propper" tag in the shorts I am reminded of that stupid Pepsi commercial from the early 90s with MC Hammer... Stoopid random memories.

Nope.  There is a uniform store at the NW corner of 59 and Telegraph.  I was stopped at the light  in front of it the other day wondering if they had them.

I'll have to stop in to see what they have and also try the Woolrich pants.

Thanks for all the info guys.

Another vote for Woolrich.  Got rid of all my 5.11's after trying them.

Sorry for the hijack, but anybody know of any good online retailers to get Woolrich pants?

Thanks,

No problem.

I was wondering about a local retailer for the Woolrich pants too.

The Woolrich website shows Jay's Sporting Goods.  Kind of out of the way from the Pontiac area.

Thanks for all the info so far.

FWIW,

The force behind woolrich tactical clothing has started a new company:

www.eotac.com/

I do not believe that woolrich is still making the line of products referred to above.
