I live in Oakland County and am looking to start the process of obtaining a Michigan CCW and have a question. After reviewing the requirements to obtain the certification I found one issue that might cause a problem and wanted to ask everyone's opinion as I would hate to spend the money and have the application be denied. Section 904(1) of the Michigan vehicle code, 1949 PA 300, MCL 257.904 (driving while license suspended or revoked), punishable as a second or subsequent offense. About 3 years ago I was pulled over and convicted of driving on a suspended drivers license (suspended from a really old expired license plate tab ticket and I didnt know). About a year after that I was pulled over again and charged with driving on a suspended drivers license but since the past due ticket that suspended the drivers license again was so old and that there was no official record of the ticket on my driving report, the judge dropped the charge to a "Failure to show drivers license". Could these convictions on my record keep me from being approved? Thanks, Mike |
