I heard IN recently allows lifetime permits and if this is true, would this be possible in MI if we talked to the right folks?

You heard right.  I hope to see more states follow suit.

Here's a big thank you to the people of Indiana!!!! MI is fairly CCW/handgun friendly, so I hope Michigan does the same thing.

VA does too; i think the only caveat is that it's only lifetime if you stay in that county/city. i just moved away so i forget what the law states.

Lifetime is the next best thing to not needing one!!

Right now I would settle for the Sec. Of State being in charge...

Way to go to our brothers and sisters to the south..

That would be perfect.  Allow lifetime CCW permits and then put it in the Sec. of States hands.  They could get rid of our cards and just add an endorsement to our current drivers license or state ID.

What is the story on the lifetime CCW? Do you have to pay a fee every year to the state or something? At $100+ a pop, I dont think the fai' ciddy of detwoit is going to give up that kind of revenue...
