Guys-

I still have a couple of slots available for the Randy Cain Practical Rifle class May 12-14 in Midland. This is the most fun class we do. Working fast-paced drills with a bolt action rifle is an absolute blast.

This class will open your eyes to what a formidible fighting weapon the bolt action rifle can be, from contact distance to 200+ yards. In addition to the defensive uses of the rifle, this class is perfect for the hunter.

Cost of the class is $425, plus a $25 range fee that goes to the Midland County Sportsman's Club.

If you are interested in the class, please contact me ASAP as lodging arrangements are at a premium that weekend.

For more information, or to register for the class, please visit our website at: www.triad-tactical.com

See you soon-

I'll be attending this class for the second time.  It is hands down the best training class I have ever taken.  The tactics that you learn are similar to those that you would learn in a carbine class, but you are doing it with a bolt action rifle.  Just about any caliber rifle will do, but I would suggest something in a 308, 223 or other military surplus caliber.

Here's a list of the equipment that you'll need to bring.

• Bolt action rifle (lever action rifles are also acceptable) with iron sights or scope. The rifle should be equipped with a sling, as a portion of the course will cover proper use of the Ching Sling.

• Safe, reliable handgun, 9MM minimum

• Quality holster, belt and magazine pouches. Holster should allow for one-handed re-holstering

• Eye and ear protection

• 500 rounds of rifle ammunition that runs reliably in your rifle

• 100 rounds of handgun ammunition that runs reliably in your handgun

• Elbow and knee pads are optional

After attending the class for the first time it made me rethink my firearm collection.
Feel free to contact me via email if you have any specific questions.

WOW
I just found out there are still a couple spots open.

I am sure a couple guys here would want to get in on this class!

Randy is one of the best instructors out there and this is his favorite class to teach.
Don't miss out!  Contact Triad and get in on this one ASAP.

I look forward to seeing some of you I already know there and hopefully meeting some new people as well....

Here is what PeterG had to say about the upcoming Practical Rifle Class over in the Tactics & Training section of our forum.

Quoted:

For what it is worth, I strongly recommend that anyone who believes they know how to operate a rifle (precision rifle, hunting rifle, target rifle, carbine . . . any rifle) TAKE THIS COURSE.

Randy Cain knows rifle, and these skills will apply across the board.   This course will illustrate to anyone (except, perhaps, the most oblivious, distracted or pathologically argumentative) any existing deficiencies in thier rifle skills and/or in the combination of them and their particular rifle.  That is information well worth knowing.

I hope a few more of the Michigan AR15 forum members can take advantage of this class.  It is well worth the time and money that you will invest.
