Hey al I was thinking about going out to the pit next weekend to fire a few rounds, both handgun, and my AR...can I just show up there an have at it, or do I need to check with a local LEO? Thanks, |

Yea, 8AM is a little early for me. I personally make it a rule to never start before 10AM.....there are neighbors and I don't want to be resposnible for pissing them off. It is also deer season so I like to give all the archery guys a little quiet in the morning. I know there are a lot of other folks who don't care and are blasting away at 7am so I am probably being overly cautious on this but that is my thought. |
+1 i think 10 is courteous. course i'm ususally there way earlier gettin set & folks will be hot already. |
There is group from bay city that host shoots a few times a year. They are fun, they are always posted on the board, come out if you can, you won't regret it. |

I was there today and gordie48001 (I assume) and a friend of his were there. I have to say, they are 2 of the coolest people I've ever met at a range. They were kind enough to let me shoot the following: supressed full auto uzi (I'm in love) a full auto M16 a full auto M4 a full auto AK47 (how do you hit anything with this gun?) and a full auto M1 thompson Come to think of it, I think I owe you a case of ammo. Let me know what caliber you want and I'll have it next time! P.S. I'll have a hanging rig for the CO2 canisters for the next shoot as well |

As I was riding home I got to thinking that we forgot to let you guys have a turn on the RPD and the 60.....well, perhaps next time right. As for the case of ammo...you don't owe me anything....We did kind of shoot the hell out of your pumpkins and Co2 tanks! I'm the fat guy, Dave, and Jim, or Dr. Bones as is his handle here, was the tall guy. We are planning a fairly good size shoot for the Saturday of Thanksgiving so if you are free stop out. I'll be praying for good weather.....not nearly as much fun in 30 deg rainy snowy crap! Good meeting you guys and see you at the next one. |
I can agree completely. I started e-mailing gordie48001 about C&R machine guns after finding one of his posts on 1919A4.com. He was great at providing me with answers to some questions. Not long after that I met Dr. Bones by chance at the pit one day. Within minutes of meeting him he was sticking a machine gun in my hand to shoot. Both these guys have let me shoot their hardware while I fought to put the cash together for my own toys. Good guys for sure. |
Second that. Everytime I've been to the pit with these guys, I've shot something full auto. Great guys, who host great shoots. |
