I am think about buying a smallbore match rifle and am concidering buying through CMP.  Is the price worth the hassle of their little scavanger hunt they make you do[proof of having fire 50 shots in comp. and be a member of a CMP affl club]?  I need it by AUG at least.  Can I count on that or should I drive to Camp Perry and buy from thier store?

Thanks

If you have a CCW permit or a C&R FFL they waive the competition requirement now.  You'll still need to be a member of an affilated club.

Yep!

I think it is worth it.  If you have a CPL or an Honorable Discharge you can join the MRPA and you are set.

(I think the small-bore stuff is bought through the Clubs; but if you ever want a Garand it is a great deal.)
