maybe shes not so anti anymore? more and more reports/signs show her moving slowly to conservative side of second amendment her response to my email Thank you . . . . . for contacting me to express your support for the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act (S.1805, previously S.659). I appreciate you taking the time to communicate your views with me. As you may know, Senator Larry Craig introduced S.1805 on October 31, 2003. This legislation was designed to prohibit civil legal action from being brought against firearms manufacturers or dealers for damages resulting from the misuse of their products. During debate on the Senate floor, several amendments were added to the bill that led Senator Craig to withdraw support from his own legislation. These amendments included extending the assault weapons ban, requiring safety locks for handguns, and mandating background checks at gun shows. The final bill was defeated by a vote of 90-8. I share your support for Second Amendment rights, and I believe that a top priority should be to enforce our current laws. Should further legislation come before the Senate, I will be sure to keep your strong views in mind. Again, thank you for taking the time to contact me. Please feel free to do so whenever I may be of assistance to you or your family. Sincerely, Debbie Stabenow United States Senator maybe its just hoping, im sure she was really trying to gain support for the admentments on the bill, like the AWB and how evil people shot down this bill (with the riders) |

Not to mention an amendment that would have banned ammo for most rifles bigger than a .22 LR(including .223). By the way, she voted FOR adding each of these amendments to the s1805, and then she voted against the bill. Why because she and all the liberals knew that if they added these amendments the bill would die, and they would be able to continue suing the gun industry out of business. |

I'm too lazy, but I recieved a impersonal, staunch anti-gun form letter regarding S. 1805 from that prick Carl Levin yesterday. I would've got a better response calling my ass, which would have at least signed it personally with an after aroma of Canned Hormel Chili. |
