Need some directions to get to Summer Ave. will be coming from the West over the new bridge.  I would just put it in the Nuvi, but sometimes it takes me through the hood.

Get off on North Parkway, it turns into Summer Ave.

BTW, Summer Ave. is pretty much the hood until you get past Sycamore View.    If you want better directions, you should provide an address.

That figures, 3562 Summer Ave.  Lol, there have been several times I've ended up in the hood in Memphis, hence the question this time.

Why didn't you just say hey I'm going to accurate law enforcement,  is there anyway to avoid the questionable areas?

Umm, I dunno.  I guess I was more concerned with avoiding the hood, than where I was going lol!  I got stuck off on 3rd one time, then another I made a wrong turn onto Winchester picking the wife up from the Airport.  Felt like I needed an MRAP, I'm from the country guys, I'm uncomfortable in urban areas!

We understand,  as inzane said you are basically planning a trip to the hood. ( most of the time they buzz you in the door at accurate).   If it was me I would come around the north leg of the 240 loop and get off at summer, head west into town until you see accurate on your right.  As a side note Guns and ammo is across the street from accurate might as well check out both.

If you were considering Guns and Ammo also, be aware that they are closed on Sundays and Mondays.

I'm headed down Monday, have to pick up a rifle from Accurate.  As bad as Memphis may be, I'll take it over Atlanta or St. Louis any day!

North Parkway would be your best option for going there.  It is actually a pretty nice area until you hit Summer.  You will end up going past the Memphis Zoo.  If the weather is nice, you may want to stop on in and see the critters.

I'd suggest exiting at Danny Thomas North just after you cross the bridge, and then turn right at the next light (North Parkway).  This will eventually turn into Summer Ave.

You just asked how to avoid the hood to get to the hood.   Accurate is a good shop with good people but its location is terrible.  I avoid it like the plague.

Guys thanks for the help got there w/o any problems.  The ladies in there are certainly pleasant, but I don't believe there is much in the way of integrity, they decided to sell the gun to someone else this morning, and didn't bother calling to tell me.  So I pretty much had a 300 mile road trip for nothing.

I guess, not sure.  The younger lady went back to talk to one of the men, and all I heard was "What do you want me to do about it".  It was their gun, but a little common courtesy of just calling me, would've been nice, I thought it was a done deal.  Oh well, I wanted an AI anyway, I'll just save a bit longer and get one from Mile High.
