Does anyone know if they have metal detectors at the door.  We're going to Disney on ice tonight.

There are people with metal detectors at the door. You may get randomly wanded. I've been in there a couple times for a hockey game (not carrying) and haven't been searched. I wouldn't chance it.

This.

Can't remember if it's posted or not, but I am pretty sure they frown on carry there, regardless of the legality of carry where alcohol is served.

the fam and i went tonight also, and the kids loved it.  i go to several hockey games a year and don't recall ever seeing a wand anywhere.  and i don't recall seeing it posted anywhere.  remember there is a police station at the sommet center.

I saw security with one when I went. I was wearing a zipped up jacket and got the stink eye from him. I unzipped it and pulled it back and that seemed to appease him, I went on my way unmolested.

It all depends on the event and event promoter   Wands and metal detectors slow the audience entering, and cost money to operate.   Both of those will cost the promoter money.   They tend to do it more on higher risk events.   .  High profile sports games... Music concerts that are more associated with violence.   Even police intel of a credible local threat all can factor in  to it.   So the short answer is "It depends"
