I just read in the Jackson Sun (local paper) that Parkway Gun and Pawn was robbed yesterday morning. I have done buisness with them before. I actually bought my first AR from them several months ago, incedentally it was at that time that I heard of this website, They have a very friendly and knowledgable staff who helped me out with my purchase. I have been back several times either window shopping or ammo buying. The article says "Several" guns were taken and that police were still looking for suspects at this time. Inventory is being done to determine exactly what was taken and that the BATFE was helping with the investigation. The robbers apparently "disabled" the utilities and alarm and then at 5:40 am they back a truck up to the front door and backed into the door. My guess is that their security system didn't have a cellular back up and when they cut the utilities (phone line) the alarm never made it's way to the call center for their security company to alert law enforcement. The article asks anyone with any info to call 425-8400 (JPD) or Crime Stoppers at 424-8477. This is a really crappy thing. The guy who actually sold me my rifle does buisness with me . (buys his booze from me- not a real regular customer just a social drinker I'm sure) It was because a friend/customer tuned me into them that I first went in there. I may swing by a see what I can see after work. |

i spoke to some JPD officers this evening regarding another matter, and when our official buisness was concluded I got a little nosy and asked for details about Parkway. One of the officers said at least 1 AR, 6 or 7 other "long guns" (his words), and a bunch of pistols. He said initially they had thought 100 guns had been stolen, but now the actual number is around 30, consisting mainly of handguns. Theives are getting bolder and bolder. I think if we start chopping of hands for first time offenders it MIGHT scare off the ones who are smart enough to do some of these burglaries. We'll never be able to stop or scare the stupid ones from trying. |
| I hate to hear this. I was just in there at the first of the week picking up me new GSG. I wonder how they managed to back into the door? Last year after the guy ran through the store front they had put up a block wall that was about 4 blocks high and filled with concrete. Like I said I hate to hear this Teresa and John are good folks and this has got to be a pain in the ass for them to deal with. |

Ya, that stinks! No matter what you do to stop theives they will always try to get in. hemvideo system......etc. That wont stop them from breaking in but, maybe 5-0 can catch these turds and after a fair trial, well you know. |
5-0? NAW, I like the story my step dad told me a few years ago about the brothers who owned the convienence store out in Sadie Lou. The story goes that they lived just a little ways down the road, and when they were notified that their alarm had been tripped they just loaded up with a few of their guns and went to check on things. When they got there they discovered that the would be burglars were still inside the building. So they just started unloading into the building. The robbers ultimately were the ones who got the cops to show up. They dialed 911 "Send some help please!!!! These guys are trying to kill us!!!!!". I laughed pretty hard when I heard that story. Any other Jacksonians ever heard this story? Confirm the validity? It would be a really good story if it's true. Still a good story if it's not. |
I have heard the same thing, that the thieves where begging not to be killed |

I just heard about this. I stop in at Parkway every Saturday morning pretty much. I cannot believe it. John is a good dealer and has really good prices for the area. Hope he's able to recover from this. Here's a link to the story regarding the punks who got caught with a few pistols and a sawed off shotgun believed to be from PG&P . This is all I can find. I do 99% of my buisness there, everything but my hunting rifles, all AR,s and pistols i buy there. Very nice and friendly people with the best prices around here. 2 AR's, and 2 pistols this year. Second robbery this year for them, last time they drove through the front of the buildind so they put in a concrete barrier in front. This is just sad, very sad. |
