I went shopping up to Clarksville yesterday with killthewabbit. We hit the bigger gunstores in Clarksvegas, which isn't saying too terribly much. Grandpa's was the first place. It's an old fashioned hardware store as well. All the guys behind the counter were bubba's, for sure. One got excited when I dry fired a Sig 1911 & pointedly told me to not dry fire it. I asked him how one was expected to check for the trigger & he pointed to about 25-30 snap caps sitting on his shelf......... ![]() Killthewabbit bought a spotting scope there, I got a S&W pistol rug for my Model 41. On to Quantaco Arms! Sadly, the little cutie from the gun show was not present there. We checked out their Acog goodies for a mere $1300 & $1500 each. They now have their FFL as well & sell guns. I had to help the counter guy get a replacement slidestop installed in a Colt OACP of some sort. Seems someone broke the other one by trying to HAMMER it into the slot! Scratched the frame as well as broke the original slide stop. Counter guy says a customer was on his way right then to buy the gun & he was in a pickle as to what to do. Crisis averted & sale completed, thanks to me. On to 1st Cav store. No guns there, only goodies. I did find a Trijicon reflex sight for my M4 that is batteryless!! Woo-Hoo! Sadly, I had to buy a $128 base mount for it as well. Killthewabbit suggests we hit Guns & Leather in Greenbrier. I had never been, so we headed out there. LOTS of nice guns in such a small shop! Killthewabbit pulls out a used Les Baer for a mere $1495. It was in good shape, no drag marks on the thing. There were lots of Nighthawk brand 1911s too. Then I found a used USP 9mm fullsize, used for $499, plus 4 10rd mags. The night sights had basically worn theirselves out, but the trigger felt like it had been worked on & lightened up considerably! Needless to say, it followed me home. I kept noticing that killthewabbit & I were getting odd looks & service from about every sunshop we went to. Then later I noticed killthewabbit was showing off his snubbie whenever he bent or twisted. No wonder! I'm just thankful he also wasn't also showing them his GUN too!!!!! ![]() All in all, a good day for gun shopping........................ |
That's not what the wife calls him!...Anyhow! What were you looking at my "snubbie" for anyway. This does not mean that we're going to be taking long, hot showers together, Buddy! I have always heard strange stories about all you "jarheads"! |
Yeah, it is on Ft. Campbell Blvd. just past the overpass for the 101st Parkway. If you driving in the direction towards Gate 1, the the store will be on your left, just as you drive under the overpass for 101 parkway. Just don't dry-fire their weapons...they get a little pissy about that. |
Bob and I saw alot of CZ pistols at Guns & Leather in Greenbriar. They had about 10 differrent models in their case. As for ammo...If ya want factory ammo, then I recommend Bass Pro or sometimes Academy Sports in Mt. Juliet. If ya want reloads...Then ya want to see the Georgia Arms folks at the Bob Pope Gun Show or The Reloaders Bench in Mt. Juliet has some good reloads for sale also. Welcome to the area...I'm right down the road in Hermitage and I work at the hospital in Lebanon. JOHN |

Also a good place locally to pick up reloading components. Great for powder and primers, No $20 Haz-Mat ![]() Welcome to the area...I'm right down the road in Hermitage and I work at the hospital in Lebanon. Wouldn't happen to be UMC? Both my kids were born there. I live about 30 miles east of Lebanon. Welcome to the area Artricusofbricia Kevin |
My name isn't Bob, it's Frank. You were obviously referring to me, because Bob is well known to associate with both coondog and tesnevo. |
Hey Frank, are you still working at the Bench? |
He's probably bent over the bench and Bob and killthewabbit are having their way with him while Hank is taking pics...... |
+1 wait did I just drag myself into this ? |
Man thats the God awful truth. I know when I was up there doing the Electrical and putting in all the new lighting (For Jim while Larry was out of state ) I thought I was going to die!!! I can go there and spend 3-4 hours shooting the bull but after that I ride home with the windows down and go straight to the shower.
Thats funny. ![]() Oh and John, its you and Bob that are going everywhere together lately. I am not insinuating just stating facts. I kinda fighured you for someone taller than Bob and better looking. I guess you are in to the "overlube treatment" like Bob gives his 1911 carry gun, eh?
