I just moved to Oak Ridge from Ft. Stewart. While I was in GA I got a CCW. Now that I have been in TN for about a week, I have changed my drivers license to TN, but my question is do I have to do the same with my GA CCW or do I have to switch it to TN CCW and pay the full $115? Thanks Guys *Also: Any jobs out there for any ex 11B's? |

I would hit a couple of web sites & see. www.packing.org is one site, the NRA's web site would be another, as would the TFA's (TN Firearms Association) web site. Since it would act as income, I'm betting $5 that TN will require someone to take the whole course again.

My guess is you will have to pay the full amount and take a class. I moved from TN to GA (Brunswick, just south of where you came from) and it didn't transfer. Needless to say there are more steps involved to get one in TN than in GA. Down here, its just cash in hand and some fingerprints and you are good. ETA: Look here. Go under GA. You will have to take the class and pay the $$$. At least you dont have to do the fingerprints. |
The several dealings I have had with them concerning my carry permit have gone without a hitch. They have answered all my questions promptly and correctly.

Then you need to buy a lotto ticket then, sir. The same folks run the CCL as run the DMV & we all have horror stories from those folks, eh? |

Im in West Tn, iv'e done everything except take the course at the Drivers Liscense Testing center "What i call the DMV", fingerprinting after the course and two renewals and renewed my DL at the same time once. The DMV and DL testing centers maybe classfied as something diff. in the big cities, i dont know. Around here we just go to the nearest DL testing station and do the renewals, and i think thats where i had all my background info checked at, cant remember for sure its been nearly 10 years. I do know its where i was figerprinted at. |
| OK, so now all I have to do is just take a class and take the certificate to the DMV other than the one in Clinton/Oak Ridge. Since I do have a GA permit I do not need to pay the whole $115 to get my TN permit. I will just have to pay the renewal fee. So I am happy about that. My question is where I can I get a class around the Oak Ridge area? |
