Sorry if this is a stupid question, but Tennessee law requires the barrel to be 16'' correct?
So if I get a 14.5 barrel and a 1.5 flash hider, does the hider have to be permantly attached to be legal?

If so, can i get a 16'' barrel per say and have a hider that isn't permantly attached legally?

Federal law reqires a 16" barrel (unless registered as a SBR). If the FS is permanantly attached to a barrel it counts toward the length.

A 16" barrel is legal regardless of a FS being installed so you'd be good with a removable muzzel device.
