| A thread over in the Survival Forums got me thinking. What about developing a network of the local members in case of a SHTF scenario - i.e. severe tornado etc. We could develop a list with phone contact info and supplies / services each member could provide in such cases. All behind the scenes so the info remains members only of course. My recent trip to S. Mississippi has convinced me that neighbor response v. govt response is critical. Any interest? |

I am interested. West TN here. We need to meet and greet, and do a little networking. I am personal friends with a couple members here, but need to meet more. My first line people are to trusted but, ill prepared. No meetings in Memphis though, |

To me this is a no-brainer. We are almost guaranteed an assemblage of people who can bring real assets to members in need following a disaster. Who among us doesn't have at least a small supply of SHTF gear? I can get the ball rolling, if you are interested in getting in on the network shoot me an email with some basic contact info and skills/supplies you could bring to the mix. We'll give it a week or two so everyone has time to get in and then I'll shoot a master list out to everyone. d3digital "at" charter.net - put "arfcom network" in the subject line |

Ahem. While I agree this on the surface is a good idea, i.e. helping our own, how will we contact each other IF a SHTF situation arose? Most likely the power would be out & thus cell phone towers would be out. If power lines are down, most likely phone lines have been dropped too. (Yes, I'm not speaking of loss of phone line power, I mean physically dropped.) Seems to me the West TN region with the New Madrid fault line will be the most liekly candidate for a disaster in TN, IMO. |

So, who'd be up for a meet and greet in the Nashville area? There's a 200 yard range out by Long Hunter State park outside of NashVegas, maybe we do a little shooting and then roll over to one of the picnic areas for a cookout? Yes, this is also somewhat of a bump. |
This actually makes allot of sense. Im 7 hours from memphis but in a large enough emergency hit there I would probably be heading there anyway. Usually thing afect only a portion of the state which means that members who where not afected could help those that where. |

Well... it could be fun. Kinda cold for the water skiing. The campground (RV)has really nice heated bathrooms,(ladies room too). I am just talking about a camp out and folks getting to know each other over some good grub and a fire. The range is open dawn to dark thirty. The campground has full hook -ups(sewer,water,power). Any weekend except Halloween and Thanksgiving is good with me. |
Im starting to think that someone is sounding like a broken record.

i was thinking about making an official announcement, but i just had to quit my job for the band. we are going up to canada to record for a month on monday, and work denied me the leave. so, i quit. on the upside, i will have some free time come december. downside is i have sold almost all my guns to make sure i am good to go financially for a few months. oh well, life is funny sometimes. |

I will be camping at Natchez Trace State Park that weekend, we had taken vacation to go to the Mountains again, but decided to stay close and enjoy a nice weekend at the Trace. I will be in a travel trailer, as my wife will be with me. My wife likes to shoot also, so we will definetly get some range time, and some good grub. If anyone is interested IM me for details. Link for park www.state.tn.us/environment/parks/parks/NatchezTrace/ |
Im in, just let me know what day and time. It would be better for me sometime after lunch, i have my daughter this weekend and my g/f 's kids while she is at work, she gets off at JMCGH at 11:00am and will be back at my house by 11:30 |

I have to give up opening day of Muzzie for this weekend. Hydrashock,JMT1271, and myself are gonna go shoot Saturday afternoon. I usually park in the lower campground on the left as you enter the RV campground, lot # 55 usually if available. Silver Yukon 4 door with tinted glass and a 831 RLSS Flagstaff bumper pull travel trailer. Hydrashock, try and pick up some B-27's or any silohette(sp.) target. Tabs for you. Brought the crock pots for roast and chili. |
to appear.
